I remember coming across John Scalzi’s article about geek misogyny a while back. I feel like I have a different perspective than most men, because I’m gay, but hey we have our own discrimination to deal with, too! (This would be interesting research material.)
I’m curious why you’ve used online sources from so long ago, unless this is an older essay that’s just been uploaded. Or has there not been any similar incident since 2012?
Anyway, mostly I wanted to point out how ironic it is for someone with the surname Peacock to complain about about people (allegedly) strutting their stuff.
Also, a note to the webmaster: why is it so difficult to leave a comment on this site? Do you seriously require commenters to have a USC email address to register? Do you really want this blog to be a backwater with zero engagement? There are lots of interesting essays that get posted here!
